6 new themed cafés you must visit in Bangkok

Themed cafes! Why aren’t there more! Everywhere I go, I make sure to search and find them. Why? Because every country has their own wacky places that transport you into a new little world. With colour scheme, animal themes and matching food and merch, how could you resist? This blog is here to tell you about some banging Bangkok Cafés.

Bangkok is bursting with instagrammable cafes. I tried to visit some less popular ones to increase the blog world’s repertoire. First up we’ve got The Unicorn Café.

The Unicorn Bangkok Café

This pink and purple paradise will make you feel like you’ve been transported into a unicorn storybook. With a rainfall of plushies overhead, glittered surfaces and princess thrones, it’s the day in the life of a unicorn royal. Treat yourself to a themed dish such as waffles topped with uni-horn cones and sprinkles. This was a big portion and only cost, 200 Baht (£5) and easily enjoyed by 2.

Rabbito café

There are lots of dog cafés in Bangkok but try something different and visit rabbits and guinea pigs. No booking is required but you may need to wait outside to avoid overcrowding and to stop the furry friends getting overwhelmed.

Similar to us, a little food bribery works a treat and the furballs will happily sit for snuggles and photo ops. You will have the chance to meet a few, which you can choose yourself. Coco was one of my favourites as his fur was soft like clouds and his top priority was acquiring a snack.

There is a minimum spend but you can reach this with a milkshake and some snacks for your new friends.

Bangkok Cat Café- Cattitude

I have often described myself as the opposite to a cat person, but am slowly becoming more fond of the fluffy beasts. Cat cafes are great- a coffee with a cat is a chill concept, but often in the UK this can be costly. Here it was 400 baht for 3 hours of snuggles, a meal, drink and snacks for the kitties. An amazing deal!  As all good animal cafes should, they have a back section where the cats can go for privacy or to rest, however most of the cats here spread out in a cat carpet fashion waiting for affection.

Bangkok Board game cafés

Board Game cafes are a little sparse in the UK, which is a shame as they are awesome! Bangkok cafés have plenty of game options. They charge an overhead by the hour but also have full day deals. In Bangkok it was around 200 baht for the day (£5 compared to £6 p/h in the UK). Now don’t be fooled, I always plan on staying 1-2 hours but on average I don’t leave till after 5 hours. With what feels like an infinite library of boardgames, time flies by. Most instructions are in multiple languages and the staff are on hand to explain or even play with you at request. Here are some I visited

  1. Kopi-o
  2. Basement Basement
  3. Stronghold

Shanni’s Top Tips

1. Always check if you need to book. Most animal cafe’s will require a reservation (Not the two above)

2. Take a look a pictures of the cafe’s and wear complimenting colours to get the best photos

3. Expect to pay a minimum on food/drinks

There it is, my most recent photogenic cafes. I hope they have inspired your itinerary. Not all countries have this vast variety of themed spots, so take advantage when you’re in Bangkok.
